Parrot Pattern Tatting Terms

R = ring
HC = head chain
C = chain
HR = head ring
BC = body chain
BR = body ring
- = picot
p = picot
+ = join
rw = reverse work
lockstitch = unflipped first half of double stitch. For needle tatters pull stitches off needle, tie knot then work number of ds called for after the lockstitch

This pattern calls for a number of "cut and ties". I know we consider those very nasty words but keep in mind this pattern was written over 10 years ago and in order to change threads and make the parrot look real the cuts are going to be necessary. My first run through with this pattern was quite frustrating as I didn't have a clue where I was starting or where I was going with the directions. I've tried to label the rings in the larger picture to help everyone identify the various parts of the pattern.
